What's Wrong if I have Plantar Fasciitis

What's Wrong...When I Have Plantar Fasciitis?

Today I am changing focus down to the foot. I have had some requests to cover the condition Plantar Fasciitis (plan-tar FA-CEE-EYE-TIS). If you have had a foot problem, listen up today because this could be YOU!

What is it?

Plantar Fasciitis is a common problem both among athletes and non-athletes. Let's first talk about what the plantar fascia (the cause of all these problems) is. The Plantar Fascia is a thick bundle of fibrous tissue that starts at the heel and ends at your toes. It assists in maintaining the stability of your foot especially when landing.

I just went through that this past winter. I didn't know what I had until it was already healed up, then I read an article about it in a health magazine. They recommended staying off of it.... well, me being me, and not knowing what I had (probably wouldn't have mattered anyway).. I wore an ankle brace and exercised as usual. It was uncomfortable and I limped through my walking sometimes, but.... I can't NOT exercise! : ) I don't know what caused it, it just starting hurting one day. I suppose I did something without realizing it. It lasted about 6 weeks.

I had trouble with my heels when I was standing 6 hours at a job that I had. It went away after I quit that job.
