Hi ladies!

I have recently moved to another apartment and I am starting to decorate my place!  I have been thinking about various decoration ideas and additions including rug, pictures, benches, console table and accent chair.  Definitely having fun and will be posting more of my current thinking and ideas!

Specifically, for a decorative rug beside my sofa, I have been looking around and noticed that one of the hit trends is cowhide rug.  I still don't know whether I will feel comfortable seeing it everyday at home because most look very real and can sometimes look quiet daunting!:)  Wonder what you girls think about that?

Stay tuned..

Would love your opinions and decoration ideas!

Id love to help but unfortunitely I am not good at decorating. You not want to see my home. Not very creative. I think you have some good ideas though. If you dont think youll be able to see that rug then do something else. Look Around and you may find something better.
Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the note! I think decoration really is a matter of personal taste. There is no right or wrong answer. For me, I love decorating my home but my main philosophy is clean and simple.
As for the rug, I have decided not to go for it and look for something else. We have to enjoy it cause we will look at it everyday! Keep you posted!

Joanna, I posted a handmade rug tutorial here : http://www.networkforwives.com/group/ihandmade/forum/topics/handmad...
I know it is kind of time-consuming to handmade an area rug like this ^^ but it's good to try making small ones ~~~
Any photos of your new home?
Thanks Cin Cin for the tutorial!
I will be posting more photos as my decoration project progresses. To start, the color of my wall is light orange. This is a condo and the owner has painted it with different shades of light orange. It actually feels very warm overall but poses an extra challenge in me getting decoration because neutal would have been much easier. Any ideas are welcome! So far, lucky that all my furnitures are in neutral tones (I purposedly did this so that it will fit any place).

First one update about the rug shopping, I have discovered a cheaper yet cool solution if you want a contemporary, good quality rug and reasonable price. There is this company called Flor and they make carpet tiles made up of renewable and recycled materials. Each tile is a square with 19.7-inch in length. There are many nice styles which you can mix & match and assemble. The end result is pretty unique designs and cheaper than you would get similar material carpet else where. I will get mine end of this week and will keep you guys posted with a photo!

Hey gals, I have finally gotten my Flor carpet! I am loving it so far and assembling the tiles are very easy if you are using it as an area rug. I have attached a picture of it:)
The beauty is that I can always change the patterns around and simply restick the tiles together. Also, if one of the tiles got dirty, only that tile needs to be cleaned or replaced:)
Very excited:)
