Looking for a good set of kitchenware!

Dear ladies,

I have some old pots / pans and they are starting to wear away.  Some of the non stick cover is now scratched and I am afraid that they are poisonous over time.  As a result, i am looking for a set of good or more durable kitchenware.  Right now, I am thinking about stainless steel because at least they don't have this coating.  Do you have any recommendations?  What has been your experience with your kitchenware?
