Hi all,
I recently bought a set of stainless steel cookware because I am tired of the wear and tear of non stick pans. I used the stainless steel ware the first time tonight and I think it is very good so far. It doesn't stick as much as I thought. Although when it comes time to clean the pan, I just used normal dish detergent and sponge. It seems that after some scrubbing and water rinsing, there are still some spots/residues in the pan. The spots/residues don't come off regardless of how many times I use the sponge to scrub it. I wonder if you have any recommendations?
Thanks!
Joanna

Here Joanne, try this link...it has lots of ways to clean your pots and pans! Let me know how you like them, I need new pans and want to get away from the non stick stuff but am leary of ss... http://www.rd.com/home-garden/20-ways-to-easily-clean-pots-and-pans... And this link too, the both are helpful :) http://www.ehow.com/how_172266_clean-stainless-steel.htm Here's a quote comment from one of those links "The most helpful tip about cleaning any quality cookware is, wipe the pan with a wet soapy cloth while it's still hot. Don't let the pan cool down first. But be careful, because, of course it's still hot. If you still have some discoloration or stubborn spots, Bar Keepers Friend is the best product I've ever found. Also, use Dobie pads with it. Works like a charm." l Hope it helps!
Hi Randi!, thanks so much for your info! the site http://www.rd.com/home-garden/20-ways-to-easily-clean-pots-and-pans... is very useful! I haven't tried vinegar yet but I will do that and see. It seems to be pretty easy and the good thing is it is quite a natural material because I am worried about using more cleaners on cookware...
Another thing I am using is simple nylon pads which don't scratch the stainless steel surface.
Oh btw, so you are thinking of getting stainless steel cookware as well?

I have only used them twice so far. They are pretty good thus far. I made steak on one of the saute pans and the sticky problem is not as bad as I thought it would be. The saute pans work great but the saucepan handle for some reason transmit heat so I had to hold it with a towel. So you probably want to look out for these kinds of factors when you decide. I bought my set at bed bath and beyond and of course, they have the 20% coupon!
