The item is NEW. It is an aboriginal
art mask made in Indonesia from renowned MIROTA brand.
Hand-crafted from wood, the long facial feature resembles the indigenous
Sasak tribe mask. The uniqueness of the mask is the dot painting
employed by the artist to create the art on the mask. The art itself is
accented by a multitude of striking colours.

This mask can be hung with a string at the back of the mask.

Dot-painted masks are commonly made from the islands of Lombok and Bali. The various regions and islands in Indonesia all have
different masks that are influenced by the local culture, folklore,
legend and Hinduism. The masks themselves symbolise people, mythical
creatures, demons and deities. They are used to pass down oral history
from generation to generation, preserving culture, tradition and
religion. In some local practices, the masks are used to ward off evil
spirits.
