Ok, I guess everybody is different in their needs. Maybe I should consult my family doctor next time I see her. I am especially concerned now because I am planning pregnancy and heard that pregnant women needs major calcium supplement.

I can't tell you what the exact amount is, because I have read many different numbers - some higher than others. I'm 44 and I take 630mg of calcium w/ 400iu of D3. I also started taking a Vit D. supplement of 700iu. I read that 1,000 ius of D3 is a good bet. I would not start on anything, though until you've researched for yourself.

Yes, I have heard the same that it is almost never enough calcium if I just rely on food alone. I wonder if there is a recommended amount of calcium I should take each day? Let's say one or two calcium pills? Also, there are some pills with vitamin in it to help with calcium absorption. So many choices..

Joanna, I have found yogart to be a very easy way to get calcium. I have it with an egg for breakfast, and sometimes for a snack. I don't know how you feel about this, but I also take a calcium supplement. They say that the amount of calcium women need is almost impossible to find just in food.

To keep to my goal about getting more calcium, I will need to get some milk and yogurt from grocery store tomorrow!

Ok. I stayed away from the chips today:)
Another thing to is to drink milk or soy milk to get more calcium.... I have not been doing that at all...

Hi ladies,
Any updates today?
Remember to stay on track with healthy eating!
Personally, I have never paid much attention to healthy eating before because I exercised very regularly. However, with increasingly busy schedule and the fact that my metabolic rate has been slowing down, it is now becoming more important to eat healthy!
My goal for today is eat more fruits and no instant noodles.

I am finding that I can no longer work hard enough to justify what I am accustomed to eating...besides that, diet is almost more important than the exercise. I have really started to concentrate on portion size and I am making fruit choices and yogurt instead of sugar. It has been hard this week because I haven't been able to eat dinner until after 8, and I hate eating that late...but hopefully after our preseason, I'll get more on track.

Yeah, I also find that eating the same types of food over the years have significantly different effects on my body... it definitely takes a lot more effort to stay in shape now than a few years ago. I think I should start paying even more attention to my diet...
