So I'm almost 52, used to be a personal trainer, and lift weights 6 times/week. I have incorporated exercise into my life, just like eating. I love the way I'm the same size and stronger today than at 25. I've given birth to 3 sons, and truly believe exercise has made my body stay toned, less depressed and optimistic about my life. If you want motivation or tips, I'm happy to help you. http://gutsywriter.blogspot.com
I definitely agree that exercise can help to de-stress and provides an emotional uplifting effect. This is why I go exercising even when I am most stressed.. it really helps!

I'm now 44 and have been an exercise fanatic since my 20's. Right now, I am looking for a job, but I still go out and exercise every morning. I have been starting to feel guilty about taking that time to exercise instead of looking for a job, but I end up telling myself, that at least I am doing this much for myself and I feel better for it. If I stopped exercising, I would feel worse than I already feel for not being able to find work. I look at other women who don't exercise and they always say they don't have time, but you just have to make the time. Last week was crazy busy for me, since my daughter was in band camp all week, having to take her back and forth twice a day, but I just figured out when I could fit it in. It has become a necessity for me.
I think exercise is ONE OF the best gifts because living a healthy lifestyle overall is the best gift. It includes exercise, healthy eating, and living a low-stress life. I help people achieve these goals and more with the A+ Plan (www.aplusplan.com). Congrats to you for keeping up with it, Gutsy!
