Virtual Walk...Thursday July 16th. Mine will be 30 minutes. Then 30 push-ups (in sets of 10), 30 crunches and bathtub dips (x15)

I know that I need the motivation of having goals, and my daily goal is that I can report back to the group that I have done something I set out to do. It is not easy for me to get to a gym right now, but I know that there are lots of creative ways to get moving.

Hold me to it...will you?

This is a trail near to where we stay in Colorado for six weeks every summer. My real home is in Minnesota, and there are equally beautiful places to walk near our home there. They are just often covered with snow and ice :)

Okay, so it worked well enough to get me up and moving this morning, I am going to try it again. Tomorrow morning I will do yoga and strength exercises for 30 to 45 minutes. I cannot get to a class, but we have Wii Fit, and I actually can get some good stretching and strengthening out of it. Likely no pictures from that adventure, but I will report back.
Oh, I have only tried Wii Fit once or twice for play but never thought about using it for exercising... I have Wii at home too, wonder if I should try it more...

Just wondering how do you girls decide on how much cardio and strength training to do? I just now do all cardio and only for twice a week...

On a five-day-a-week workout schedule I try to do 3 days of cardio and 2 days of stretching and strengthening. I would love to increase that, but time availability makes that hard. I think even starting to add push-ups and sit-ups to what you do currently can start to build some strength, and then you will probably want to do more.

Okay, so I did actually get to workout for about 20 minutes on the Wii today, before the batteries on the balance board ran out. I am sore from the push-ups and planks, but it is a good sore. I am planning to go for a long hike with the kids (which includes carrying my 3-year-old on my back) It is a great workout, and I am sure I'll have some fun pics to prove it.

Nice! Keep it up! I was just going to check whether you did yours today. I am going to step class tomorrow morning too! I will log it here tomorrow! Thanks for starting ths thread:)!

Nothing to report today...littlest kid woke up sick today, and weekends are when I don't have hubby around in the mornings to leave kids alone. Tomorrow, I have a chapter reading to do, so I know I will likely only be able to get a walk in tomorrow night. I feel guilty all of a sudden, but it will get me on my horse tomorrow. Joanna...how was step?

Thanks Meagan for following up... Urggg... I missed my step class today because I couldn't wake up on time:( I plan to get on the treadmill tomorrow... no interesting gym class on Sunday so will have to use the gym equipment instead.. I feel guilty too... In order to make step class on Saturday, I have to make myself go to bed earlier on Friday nights...

Ok, I did 60 sit-ups tonight at home after cooking. Today is the only day my husband and I have time together throughout the week. At least I get to tone my tummy with the situps. I should increase the sit up counts gradually...

Way to go Joanna! I didn't get home from my reading last night until 10, and even though I was not moving around a whole lot yesterday, presenting in front of a group of women is EXHAUSTING. I have to drop my car off at a service center today, and I plan to walk (pushing both my girls) to my mom's house which is almost 2 miles away. I have an exercise band here at our condo, so I plan to do some strengthening exercises and sit-ups today too. Side crunches and twists. GO US!!
