Hi ladies,
As Christians, we are constantly struggling everyday and dilemmas come and make us ask the question "What should I do? Should I follow God's way or my way?" This is a tough question and I believe that it has to be asked and especially when we have children, they look up to their parents on their decisions, choices and how they lead their lives. Although there are many times when we do falter and follow our ways, but I think realizing that we are at a crossroads is an important first step. From my experience, it always end up well eventually if I do decide to follow God's way. For other times when I failed, at least I knew that I was going the wrong way and try not to repeat doing the same next time.

How do you handle it when dealing with such dilemma and what is God's role in your family?

Going God's way is always the best choice. It might not always be the easiest choice, and it doesn't mean that everything is going to be a bed of roses, but it always comes out right in the end. I would much rather follow someone who knows my future rather than me trying to figure out what my future has in store for me. Knowing what is God's choice is not always easy either. I just pray a lot and pray that I will be listening at the right time and hearing the right thing. While I've been looking for work, I have done the best that I could do in applying and making my resume the best it can be, etc., but after that, I just have to trust that God will provide the right job for me. That's the way I prayed right at the beginning, and I'm still praying that way.
God plays a huge role in our family. My children's (ages 15 and 17) level of faith never ceases to amaze me. Honestly, there have been certain Sunday mornings when I just felt like sleeping in and skipping church. But our kids won't hear of it! I've even learned more about God through them. We've gone through some difficult times and I recall talking with my son and saying, "We need to pray for such-and-such, or we need to pray and ask God to do XYZ for us to help us out in a particular situation." And my son will turn to me with eyes that are wise beyond his years and say, "Really mom, we need to pray for God to help us accept His will for this situation." And he's right!
It is very hard to be human and Christian at the same time. Our Lord left us with free will and at times we must decide what is wrong and what is right. I truly love the feeling that we receive as his arms wrap around us even if we may do wrong. It is the longing in my heart after making a decision I know that may not be right that leaves an impact as well. It is wonderful that we have a Lord who will always love and forgive us. Setting that sort of example for our children is what we need to strive to do
Hi Angela,
I very much agree that being a Christian is very hard. I often come to this crossroads where decisions have to be made and choices have to be made. Especially when we have kids, they look up to us for how we decide and make choices. It is so important to make sure we set the right examples and do what we teach them... What are some of the things that you guys do at home as a Christian family? I don't have kids yet but I am curious and want to learn from others...
