Social Bookmarking Experiment - Need Bloggers Help

I want to try something this week, I'd love your help. There are so many social bookmarking sites out there that can really help bring traffic to your site.

I want to focus on one site a week. I've stumbled most of your blogs. I'll continue to do that. That is my absolute favorite bookmarking site, because it brings readers who are interested in what you write about.

Here's what I want to do. Keep posting your blogs on Network Wives. The emails from Joanna will really help me keep up with the new content out there. If you want to take part in this, comment on here. If I leave a comment on your blog this week, then you've been shared with a social bookmarking site. I'm just really curious as to which ones are worth spending time on.

What sites are you using out there?

I'll start a new discussion each Friday with the site to focus on. Let me know if you get any new traffic.

Hi Ivy
I am pretty new to blogging and I am still trying to figure out this world of blogging. I don't quite understand these bookmarking sites. Can you explain this one? I checked it out but I dont really understand what you do. Thanks! And what is stumbled?

Certainly. All social bookmarking essentially work the same way. The core idea of these sites was to offer a platform that you could bookmark sites online for your personal use. If you use multiple computers or are out of town on another computer, you still have all of your bookmarks. People do use them for this. But with the social environment of the internet, these sites have grown into a forum to find great sites to visit and follow. For a blogger, it's a great resource to bring you new traffic and get your search engine rankings up.

To use them: You add a link to a site, video, post, etc. on the site. Some will allow you to rank the link, some allow reviews, etc.

That's all you do. If you use Firefox, there is a great plug-in to add links to these site quickly. Otherwise, you just go to the site and add the link.

I am intrigued...but clueless. I don't even know what this is. So I guess I don't use anything. I will be reading every week to see your take on how to best bookmark.

And what is stumbled?
I'm sorry I never answered this. Being stumbled means your site or post was added to StumbledUpon.com. Stumble Upon is the coolest site, because it not only acts like a social bookmarking site, but it also keeps track of what you like by your bookmarks and the interests you select. Stumble Upon will send you an email each week with suggested sites you may like. It does the same to all users, which will include and of your links stumbled.

What makes this site so great, is that it bring you visitors who are interested in what you offer. Often, users will sit on the site and stumble their interests. It will just shuffle through site after site where users can vote thumbs up or thumbs down on the site. That will make the site show up more and give it a favorable rating for other users to see.
