Life can be filled with challenges but when we step back a little, there are things that we should be grateful for and yet we tend to overlook. Can you think of 5 things that you are grateful for? It may seem hard to come up with them in the beginning but in fact , we might have been taking them for granted...

Your discussion topic couldn't be more aptly timed! I started The Gratitude Challenge 11 days ago. It's great, you should check it out. It's perfect to start before Thanksgiving. :) I've been dealing with some difficult emotional & financial situations over the past couple of months. So on top of the Gratitude Challenge, I've been keeping a Gratitude Journal where I record five things I'm grateful for every single day. Here are five for today:
1. My family is healthy and we are all together.
2. My husband has a job.
3. I'm blessed with awesome, loving, supportive friends.
4. We have food to eat and a comfortable home to live in.
5. Caramel moccachinos!
1. My two beautiful children, who are pretty darn well behaved!
2. My wonderful, patient fiance (even though he drives me nuts sometimes)
3. My mother, for allowing us to live with her and buying food until I can find work.
4. Having a dependable car to drive.
5. Mine, and my children's good health.
These were not difficult to come up with. One might think, that in my situation, it would be difficult to come up with anything to be thankful for, but maybe it takes a long, rough spell to make someone truly realize what is really important in life. Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes, when we look at our lives in a positive light, there are bound to be things that we always have and may have been taking for granted. Consider taking a moment each day to think about what we should be grateful for and express our appreciation, especially for our family and our children. I think life is too short to stay in the negative light. Why not choose to live it with positive energy and thinking?
Here is my list:
1. My husband, my parents, my in-laws and I are healthy
2. We both have a job
3. We don't have to worry about food and a place to live
4. I have the opportunity to create this network for other women
5. My family is living in harmony
What are yours?

I love the idea of starting a gratitude journal! So often we may find ourselves focusing on everything negative going on around us, instead of focusing on ALL the positive things around us.
I am blessed:
1) To have supportive family and friends
2) To have my faith
3) My family is happy and healthy
4) I have food, shelter, and clothes on my back
5) I am able to work from home and spend more time with my kids
Here is one of my favorite quotes I have hanging in my room. It's a visual reminder to watch my thoughts to ensure I focus on the simple, good things in life.
